well now its been a while and sorry for not making this post sooner, reasons for this is time constraints in school and a certain Call of Duty game that was recently released prevented me from making this looong photo spammed post.
the Gunpla Builder's World Cup is a yearly gunpla related event that was renamed maybe 2 times for the last 7 years(?) or so. this took place on the Midtown Atrium of Robinson's Ermita (Manila)
this is my 3rd time from joining this yearly event, and quite frankly this is one of the most intense gunpla event as seriously the creations of all participants were all far better than last year.
now on with the pics xD xD xD
my fave thus far :D
my entry, getting him to stand in that manner and for him to stay like that took me some time
as it was very hard xD
another winner in my eyes :D
here Nathan and the german like guy (forgot his name) demos how to use an airbrush with a tamiya tankless compressor
awarding came along and everyone was ecstatic upon knowing who will represent the Philippines for the finals this month
winners of the New Challenger Junior division here you can see Stephen Hillario as the champion, and Nicole Suratos as 2nd runner-up
the champion of the open category and our representative
and what's this Mickey Rourke, aka Ivan "Whiplash" Vanko from Iron Man 2 made a guest appearance.. :D :D :D :D

Project Wangun
now after the event we celebrated Project Wangun's 1st year anniversary on Rai Rai Ken
mabo tofu, oriental style rice among others was the food
Roxas Blvd by night
Cavitex on the nightime.
at the end of the day we had a blast and looking forward for next year.
but looking back I had some minor qualms and rants about the event, mind you this is purely my (ErazEr's) opinion and not the other members of PW plus i took my time onto editing my words to ensure this little blog didn't get any bad traffic..
I may sound like sour graping but no, this are just my honest thoughts and opinions
from the pictures you see above I think you guys, the reader, agree amongst all is the best or let alone deserving for an award but the entry didn't won anything lest alone a consolation prize, now I don't know what was going on around there, or maybe the judges needed to intensify their glasses haha
another qualm is the Open Category which I joined, now the rules clearly stated that no heavy painting, no weathering, just what you see OOTB (out of the box) though panel lines were allowed to enhance the appearance of the kit, now some clearly din't read the rules carfully as some painted their kits to the extent of changing the base colors, now thats fine but what bothered me are the winners,
i'll be blunt this entry won 3rd place, while the work was good, ill admit, but it has weathering which was against the rules of our category.
but meh what happened has happened lets just respect their decisions for the better
but still at the end of the day we were all at smiles, and took this as a challenge to improve our craft for next year..
now if someone can tell me what's the name of this girl
another view of her
^ this was her entry xD xD oh well..
well see her if well see her someday XD xD
till then ErazEr out..

OUT OF THE BOX build (applying modeling basics), but use of Bandai Decals & any color schemes and patterns are allowed. No Diorama Entries for this category. This are the rules, wheres the heavy painting and weathering then??? You should read the rules before you critic!
